DON’T waist your time or money. You’ll never be able to park. You’ll drive around for 40 mins and end up parking OUTSIDE THE GATES DAILY. absolutely furious daily here. Fix your parking situation Camden. There is no need to have every single spot designed for F250 when the average person has a car or small SUV and there is Almosttttttt enough space between each car to park an entire extra vehicle.
At first, I thought this would be a nice place to live, because Camden seemed to have a good reputation. I made the mistake of paying their exorbitant application and admin fees of $420, thinking the people in leasing actually cared. BIG MISTAKE! I applied on a Saturday night 1/20 and immediately set up renters insurance and sent them my service dog's documents. All day Monday, no one bothered to call and check on me, and someone subbing for my main leasing agent (Jill) made it clear she had better things to do than to follow up with me. Most leasing in any city across the country have high turnover, but at least they care enough to follow up and make sure you get your questions answered to go ahead an sign the lease, once you've been approved, because they get commissions. NOT THIS ONE. The Camden Chandler team make it 100% clear they could care less about you as a new resident, so they just ignore your emails and text messages, making it your responsibility to drive there and meet with them in person, even if you still do not know what they need you to bring. For example, they told me they required 3 forms of ID when I went there to move in, but no one at Chandler Camden bothered to tell me what types those might be. When they neglected to answer the phone, a nice lady at the regional headquarters answered the phone and told me she also didn't know what they might be, but she ventured to guess. She tried to answer some of my questions regarding concerns about access to the gates, unit, and amenities using the Chirp app and/or pin codes, however she also did not know for sure. She just suggested I text the Camden Chandler team, which I did after sending multiple fruitless emails, and GUESS WHAT? No response. After 3 days of this frustrating ping-ponging with partial answers and countless overlooked emails and texts, during which time only one person ever tried a total of 1 time to contact me by phone, I got an automated email stating that my application had been canceled due to my not providing any of the required documents (NOT TRUE). I did take the time to read the lease and noticed it stays a required $155 cleaning fee upon move-out for all residents, which makes them the only leasing office across multiple states I have ever known to do this. I believe Camden is a heartless money-making operation that is conducting illegal activities in running their business, because they refuse to provide information needed to complete the leasing tasks in the format required by the individuals with disabilities and force you to drive in to meet them in the office or waste your non-refundable $420 admin fees for some kind of work they are not actually performing. Check around, as there are lots of better communities in this area that actually care about residents. Oh by the way, one of the current residents told me they never clean up the dog poop in the community, and it is EVERYWHERE! Even on top of the bushes if you can imagine!
I lived here for just under six months and lived in two different apartments before leaving because the experience of living there was so horrible and paid to break my lease early to get away! First off, these apartments are over priced. The build quality is below par as I lived on a middle floor and a first floor apartment and heard every foot step, cabinet open/close and movement of the person above me. Loud stereos, tv's and heavy steppers will sound like they are amplified. This caused the light fixtures to shake and rattle and I was changing light bulbs because of them being rattled to death. You never get a moment of rest especially if the person above you is disrespectful and you will probably incur this there. My walls in the first apartment smelled like smoke from someone smoking either above or next to me and was so bad I had the vents cleaned to try to help the smell but this is supposed to be a non smoking apartment complex...In the six months I was there the gates never worked and were open 24/7 and every entry point was never closed and or locked so no sense of security or safety was present. Also, there were constant thefts and complaints of strange people in the complex. There are broken light fixtures around the facility that are laying down with exposed wires. Yet again some were broken when I moved in and some were still down when I left. There was a water fountain that they turned off or broke but pretty much stayed untouched and turned into a brown slush of bacteria for four months. They fixed it and then tore it down a week later!!! Last but not lease the bldg 9 is like the horror bldg for the complex. I saw multiple instances of cops in stand off situations and never once were we the tenants ever informed of the issues and if our safety was threatened. The management treated every post, concern, complaint with silence. My only compliment is for the staff that works on site, as they were friendly and affable but unable to remedy anything.
I am super, super bummed. I really wanted to lease here/tour the facilities and I couldn't even get someone to answer the phone. I called three times on different occasions and never got an answer. I signed up to be texted and never got a text. The only people I could get in contact with were over the Camden chat, which I think is a main Camden center. If I can't get someone to respond to me in the office, I could only imagine living here and trying to get something taken care of. The Camden at North End is SO responsive and great and I wish I could afford to live there instead. I had scheduled a virtual tour with April and 30 minutes later, after no call, I cancelled, which I had to do over the chat. I am unable to go into the complex because I would be moving from out of state, so phone calls and virtual tours is all I have to go off of. What a bad first impression. It's very rare I leave a review without seeing or going to a place first, but those are my circumstances. Incredibly bummed. I guess I would be weary of renting from a place that won't even answer their calls or let you leave a voicemail. I guess getting new tenants isn't that important to them.
Update 12/15/2023
In case you were wondering, although the response from the owner/manager seemed endearing, I did not receive a follow up phone call or email.
Terrible, horrible, nasty corporation. Stay away from this place. I say corporation because the only positive thing about this place is that the people that work in the office are polite, friendly and professional. However the demeanor towards their tenants of the corporate office is suck them for all they got. They keep adding these ridiculous fees and excuses to extract more money from you. Especially infuriating was the move out fees of $285. My message to Camden is, it will better marketing strategy to lump all the money you want out of your clients in one sum so that they know what they getting into.
The Camden Chandler is a beautiful property. I transferred site-unseen in early 2021 with a family emergency, from a CA Camden. The entire team from Amanda to Josh, April, Jose, Maria, and names that are escaping me (I can see your faces …
Jill was amazing. I appreciated her patience in helping me find the right home for me and entertaining and answering all of my questions about which way the apartment faced to maximize the light for all of my plants. 💛 …
So glad we chose Camden home! Been here for about 2 months and it has been so great! Clean, staff is awesome, community is quiet! Highly recommend
I've lived at two Camden locations in the greater Phoenix area. Most recently at Camden Chandler.
I really enjoyed my entire experience and stay there. If I weren't downsizing …
I would like to acknowledge Jill & front office staff for excellent customer service and the corporate staff for being polite as well. Also, I would like to Thank Dylan for completing my maintenance requests promptly.
